CHAMPAGNE GLAZED HAM

The Hillshire Brown Sugar Spiral Sliced Ham is perfect for this recipe. The combination of the Brown Sugared ham and the Champagne Glaze will taste better than a Honey-Baked Ham. If you don't have the Hillshire Ham or a spiral cut ham, be sure to score the ham first to allow the glaze to seep into the meat.
.
Champagne Glazed Ham
.
1 9-11 lb Hillshire Bone-in Brown Sugar Spiral Sliced Ham
1 Pound (2 1/4 Cups ) dark brown sugar
2 bottles extra-dry champagne
3 Tablespoons honey
1-1/2 Teaspoons ground ginger
1-1/2 Teaspoons dry mustard
.
Open 1 bottle of champagne and sprinkle 1/2 cup champagne over top of ham. Cover top with 1 cup brown sugar & remainder of opened bottle of champagne. Bake at 325 degrees F for 2 hours.
.
Champagne Baste:
Combine remaining bottle champagne, remaining brown sugar, honey, ginger & mustard in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Lower heat & simmer. Baste ham every 20 minutes.
